Local places of photographic interest
Please have a look through these links as they are all potential places to visit on your photographic holiday. They will give you some ideas for when you come up, there are places by the sea and inland, if you are looking for some seascapes as well as landscapes you could check to see the times of the high tides for your chosen dates.

The Hepworth Wakefield
This new award winning gallery is based round the work of Barbara Hepworth, but has changing exhibits in other rooms. Many of these rooms allow photography, a novel opportunity to play with abstract and shape photography. www.hepworthwakefield.org
Yorkshire Sculpture Park
This place is a photographers dream, it has an ever changing collection of outdoor exhibits set in magnificent grounds. So you can either photograph the landscape or the sculptures or both. There is a good indoor exhibit area with good eating places in case of rain. www.ysp.co.uk
Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
A great place to photograph classic railway train and equipment, in a wonderful landscape setting. With a number of different stations and ending up in Haworth home of Bronte country and the Railway Children. www.kwvr.co.uk
Warkworth Castle

Howick Hall and Gardens
Howick Hall and gardens has much to photograph at all times of the year. In spring there are fields of daffodils in front of the house and Rhododendrons in abundance in the woods. http://www.howickhallgardens.org
Barter Books (Alnwick)
Not photographic but it has books on photography and is an amazing place inside. By far the best second hand book shop in the country. http://www.barterbooks.co.uk
Bamburgh Castle
Bamburgh Castle is the iconic castle on this coast. It dominates the flat surrounding landscape, perched on cliffs above the dunes. It looks good at low and high tide and is a must for photographers http://www.bamburghcastle.com
